Fun to be 1!!!!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Kellen!

Today we celebrated Kellen turning 1! It seems just like yesterday I was in the hospital waiting on him to arrive! It was so nice to have family and great friends come and celebrate sweet Kellen! We had a monkey theme as we partied! I enjoyed very much being crafty and making some of the party decorations!

Kellen really enjoyed digging into the cake. It took him a minute or two for him to realize what he was doing but then had fun with it. He even shared some with Daddy. Of course after he had cake Matt and I had to clean him up! I think he enjoyed bath time over eating the cake!

After cleaning up we enjoyed time visiting before opening presents! It didn't take long before we moved to where the presents were. Kellen worked hard at opening presents but was quickly distracted by the toys and we found it hard to get him back on track. He finally made it through them all! Let me just say it looked like Christmas! Kellen was very blessed! We thank everyone for the wonderful gifts!

The day was perfect! Although I was nervous about the snow and Matt having a minor problem getting the balloons and food back to the house, the day ended an absolute blast! Kellen is a true blessing to both Matt and I! We look forward to the many birthdays to come! Happy Birthday sweet Kellen you are THE BEST!!!!!!

A New Trick!

Here lately Kellen has been doing some new things! His newest trick is crawling up stairs! He absolutely loves it! I had aksed him if he wanted some cereal and off he went straight for the stairs and up he went! He was at the top in a matters of seconds. Soon after he finished eating he was on his way up the stairs for bedtime! The pictures tell the story!

Trick or Treat!

This Halloween I was extra excited because Matt and I had the cutest little Sock Monkey ever! On Friday we started our Halloween extravaganza at First Baptist for S.H.I.N.E. We were able to meet up with Mom, Dad, Heather and her family to go around and collect candy. Matt and I decided that we were not going to have Kellen collect candy because we knew that we would be the ones to eat it! Don't get me wrong I love candy and would have loved Kellen to have gotten some, but I would have been asking for trouble!!!! You see I have a major weakness and there is no time for weakness! Anyway after S.H.I.N.E. we set off to the local Japanese restaurant for dinner! It was very yummy!

As Halloween day approached I was beginning to think that the rain would not stop and that we were going to be stuck inside all evening, but God was Good (as always) and the sun popped out just in time for Trick or Treating! We met up with Heather and her family and then walked around her subdivision then ventured over the Kellen's grandparents for some Trick or Treating. Kellen had a blast and was absolutely adorable! Of course I am a little biased but I do believe I have reason to be! I look forward to next Halloween and the fun times that are ahead of us!

I love spending time with my family and this past weekend was a wonderful family weekend! The Burchett's decided to take a fun trip to the Lexington Children's Explorium! The pictures that I am posting will let you see the fun that we all had together and the just how much fun Kellen had.

Kellen placed his hand on the mat and when he removed it there was his precious hand print!

Kellen absolutely LOVED this tractor! He had the tightest grip on the steering wheel! Let's just say that tears poured immediately after leaving! That is how much he loved this tractor.

We had a blast!!!! I look forward to the many family weekends we will have together!

Blessings!

Fall Fun 2009!

One of my favorite times of the year is Fall! I love the different colors the leaves turn, the way the air smells and also the cool weather! This past weekend Matt, Kellen and I visited Bi-Water Farm in Georgetown, KY. The day was absolutely beautiful! The sun was shinning bright and the weather was just the right temperature! I have been looking forward to this weekend for some time! I love just venturing out to places such as this!

First on the agenda was the Spooky Farmhouse. Daddy and Kellen ventured inside while I stayed outside to watch the stroller and to capture a sweet picture of my two special buddies! As we moved along we came upon the Enchanted Barnyard! Kellen really enjoyed seeing all the different animals. There were a number of farm animals; there were goats, turkey's, a cow, sheep, oh and my favorite was the Rooster, just to name a few! Kellen really liked the goats, he almost got a hold of one! He had so much fun watching Kaleb and Makynna feed the animals! They were a riot to watch.

We then moved on to the Pirates Cove! There Kellen fell in love with the slide! He got so upset when we decided to move on! Just look at that sweet smile!!!

Now answer this, What Pirate would want to capture such a sweet Little Buddy like this? I just love the look and sweet smile on Kellen's face!

After sliding we ventured to the Lil' Pumpkin Play Patch and the Cowboy Corral! Here Kellen was able to drive a train and even man the tractor! Boy he sure did enjoy driving! If we are not careful Matt and I will have our hands full! It was so enjoyable watching Kellen and seeing the delight on his face.

We attempted to find our way through the corn maze but it was just too muddy! So we turned around! We then stopped to take a couple of pictures! After snapping some sweet pictures we walked on to catch the next hayride, unfortunatey we didn't get to take a ride, our sweet Kellen was too tired! Look how sweet!

Our day was amazing! To end such an incredible day I decided to take Kellen out and snap a couple of pictures of him and his pumpkins!

We look forward to our venture for next year! Thank you Bi-Water Farm for making our Fall 2009 Pumpkin Adventure a success!

UK vs. Alabama

One can only hope that when you get up early on a Saturday in attempt to get ready for a football game with your husband and baby still sleeping that as you make it to that football game, the team you are cheering for will win the game. Well, even though UK didn't win it was a very fun day spent with family and great friends! As the fall weather approaches Matt and I decided that we better take Kellen to another game as we may not be able to make it with him to many others. We woke him up, fed him and dressed him in his cute little UK jersey! I must say he does look awful cute decked out to cheer on the Cats! As soon as we got things loaded we were on our way to the game!

Kellen was great throughout the game! He ate his lunch and played with the people behind us for as long as he could before he just couldn't keep his eyes open any longer. He actually fell asleep with seconds left in the second quarter! Kellen slept as long as he could and when he woke up he wasn't as playful as earlier. I decided that he had enough and we took him to the truck. There Kellen played for the longest time! He had a blast!

The day ended well! We had a great time hanging out with friends and watching our baby boy play and have loads of fun! I look forward to the many games that we as a family will be able to attend! I also look forward to watching out little Wildcat grow to love UK Football like his Daddy!

Go Cats!!!!

Isle Of Palms

Vacation....a word that I hadn't heard in a long time! This vacation was even more special because we had a fantastic little boy with us. Our vacation spot of choice was Isle Of Palms, SC, and let me just say that it was absolutely beautiful! Before we made it to Isle of Palms we first made a stop to Columbia, SC so Matt could take a class. Kellen and I hung out at the hotel while Matt learned more fun stuff about "eyes", you'd think that 4 years of Optometry school one would know it all right? Well, the learning never stops, but I will just say that it was well worth hanging out in a hotel for a day and a half, we were able to get away as a family and enjoy our time together. While Matt was in class Kellen and I even ventured out and explored! I am happy to say that I made it back to the hotel with no problems and didn't even need to stop to ask for directions once! Fun times!!!

Kellen was a great little traveler! I think that we were some what nervous about this considering it was a 6-7 hour trip. Kellen sure did prove that he can keep up with the big boys! Kellen slept most of the trip but was also able to play and stay occupied while he was awake!

Once we arrived at the house we rented we unloaded the vehicle and tried to settle in. After we put things away and made a soft play area for Kellen we decided we would walk to the beach and see how little buddy liked the sand and water! It was so precious watching Kellen as his little toes dug into the sand. He moved his feet through it and would smile ever so sweet! While playing in the sand Kellen constantly watched the ocean. The water was so captivating! We knew that he wouldn't have a problem at all with water.

Throughout our trip we of course had some great food! I would have to say that Matt and I had two favorites, Coast and Sullivan's. Both restaurants had amazing seafood and let me just tell you we devoured every bit of it!

To close our trip we visited The Biltmore Inn. What a beautiful location! The scenery was gorgeous even if it was raining. We would have toured the grounds had we not arrived late afternoon. Maybe next time! Of course Kellen was a hit with those around. Dinner was fun! He was our little talker throughout dinner and let me just say he had quiet the voice! The couple behind us were sweet with him, they waved and talked to him just like they knew him! It probably helped that they had 15grandchildren of their own so he was treated like one of them. We had a great time!

I hope and pray that all our family vacations are fun and relaxing as this first family adventure was! I look forward to watching Kellen grow and see the many things that we introduce to him! Isle of Palms, SC was one of our firsts but it will not be our last! Oh and I do plan to go back! I loved that seafood way too much to not go back! Here's to family vacations and the fun times that they bring!
