2 Months

Wow! How time flies. These past two months have been wonderful! Kellen reached the two month mark Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009! Following turning two months means a trip to the doctor, and that means SHOTS! I think that I had a harder time with this visit then Kellen. I arrived anxious and nervous. I feared that the pain would be more than he could handle and I was anticipating what the night would be like. Let me just say he was a trooper!

The visit started out with Kellen weighing in at 12 lbs. 12 oz. and 24 1/2 inches long. Dr. Ison told us that he could either be a linebacker or a power forward. So I'm guessing we will have a little buddy that plays some type of sport. The doctor checked him over and said that he looked good and then the dreaded moment came, shot time. The nurse came in and gave him his oral vaccine, second she gave him 2 shots in his left thigh and one in his right. Kellen did well with the first shot, then when the second one went in he had a look on his face of "What is happening? This hurts!" After the third shot and hearing him cry I scooped him up and held him tight. My heart broke when I heard him cry in pain, so I held him as close as I could and cied myself, Matt shed a tear as well. It's not easy hearing your sweet baby cry. I will say that Kellen did very well. He slept most of the afternoon and woke only to eat. Needless to say it was an early night for Kellen, Matt and myself.

Overall the experience of the two month check up wasn't that bad. I'm proud of Kellen and his strength. I can not wait to see what the next couple of months will be like. I love this little boy more than anything! My family is wonderful and I thank God so much for my amazing husband and sweet baby boy!

Little Valentine!

This Valentine's Day was a little different from previous Valentine's, instead of one Valentine I had two, two of the sweetest fellows a girl could ask for. The day started out filled with love, I woke up before my two favorites, so I got up to do a couple of things around the house. I finished what needed to be completed and at 8:30 AM they were still sleeping. A little after 9 we all got up and started our day. I went downstairs to clean up some bottles and much to my surprise when I made it back to the bedroom there was a box of chocolates and two small boxes laying on the bed. I opened up my gifts and while we were laying on the bed talking and playing with Kellen there was a knock at the door. Matt walked down and came up with a beautiful bouquet of red roses. As my face filled with happiness Matt's face however didn't. I asked him what was wrong and he said that the florist messed up, he told me that there was supposed to be another half dozen from Kellen. It didn't matter to me that they messed up, I was happy with what I was given but poor Matt, he was so disappointed.

After talking through the flower situation it was time for Matt to open his Valentine gift from Kellen and I. It was something I knew he would love, a video game! Kellen soon after fell asleep, so we decided to go downstairs to play his game. We were having fun (Matt was losing of course) when he got a phone call. It was the florist. They called to apologize and said that they would be there shortly with the flowers I didn't receive. Maybe 10 minutes later there was another knock at the door, Matt went upstairs and when he walked back downstairs his face no longer had disappointment on it, instead he was happy. The flowers were beautiful! It made my day! Beautiful flowers, chocolates, and sweet charms. What a wonderful Valentine's!

Valentine's Day was wonderful and I couldn't have asked for two better Valentine's. Matt and Kellen, I love you and thank you for such a great day!
